Default Riding With a Passenger

Hi !

Recently I have been riding with a passenger on more than one occasion. Since this is something that I had not been doing too often after I purchased my bike I was wondering from those with more experience than myself here if they feel a slight strain on their engines at any time while riding? Especially going up a hill. For the record I ride a 1200 custom low

I have a 2004 1200R model and it doesn't strain at all with a 125 pound pillion and a 190 pound rider.

My 2007 883C has no problems with my 180 lb *** and a passenger. But I'm a lot more gentle with a rider.

Almost all of the effect will be psychological. I went cross-country with a ton of stuff on my 250, probably an extra 100lbs easy, and noticed little effect.

Default 2up Riding Ummmmmmmmm!

Personally I like 1up! may sound selfish..But! Yes I know the 2up situation. Pillion jiggling around, Pillion trying to talk, pillion wanting to go to the restroom etc, (while Im enjoying the peace & quiet & enjoying the scenery or avoiding the idiots in cages,) Really to keep people happy! Sometimes have to have pillion On..Didn't notice much difference with pillion as have Cams done,Mikuni42,Ignition module & V&H short shots etc on.

No problem with my wife on the bike. We weigh a total of around 250 though. It goes just fine, maintains highway speeds, and has never felt like it couldn't handle it.

Depends on the size of the Chick. I try to keep my suspension setup so that around 125 is the MAX weight for a passenger. Any larger, and I just have to tell her, "Sorry, my bike's suspension will only carry an extra 125 pounds."
