Resale values of 1200 Custom?
What are you seeing on bike prices? I am going to try and sell my 2006 Sportster 1200 Custom and I am having a heck of a time figuring a price. I have put a lot of money in her and taken good care, but I don't think I will get what I need to out of it. I am thinking $7000, what do ya'll think?
I kept most of the original parts; intake, exhaust system, handlebars, pegs. Do the add-on parts add value or should I strip it back down close to stock and sell the parts seperate?

Bike was in excellent condition, never down and had 7200 miles.
Quick release windshield
Highway pegs
Sissy bar and pad
Saddle bag supports
****ty aftermarket saddle bags
Started at $8000 and took $7200 (this was the only offer I received).
with 6,000 miles on it, HD removable windshield, short sissy and luggage rack,
complete maintenance records, etc. for $8,500. As of Monday he was down to
$7,200 and I'd guess that he'd jump on $7k.
I looked at it in March when he was asking $8k and decided to just buy a new one.
There haven't been many Sportsters for sale here except through the dealer
and his prices were so high that there was little incentive to buy a used bike.
Lots and lots of BTs out here, but relatively few Sportsters.
