I'll normally wear a 3/4 on the warmer days but on the real HOT one I'll throw on the 1/2
I think if I was taking a LONG trip on the HIGWAY doing 75mph I would wear my full face for protection and the fact I don't have a windshield.

Closed casket for me. I wear an under armour beanie most of the time....under armour balaclava hood in winter. My most used helmet is an HJC 3/4 with face shield. Worked really well on my seven state, 11 day trip this past fall. It handled everything from 105 Southern Arizona and California desert heat, rain turning to snow at 11,000 feet in Colorado, and RAIN and WIND in Kansas. That being said, I think my HJC modular flip-up would have been a good choice, too. I'm thinking of getting another one...the HJC with the flip down sun visor. Pretty cool, and practical, too. Though I seldom wear helmets, except in winter and when it's a possibility of rain, I'll never seriously down anyone for wearing a ff. If you want to protect your noggin, a ff has no equal.

Allways wore novelty or the lightest 1/2 helmet I could find with pilot goggles. In 07 when I got my last bike got a dot 1/2 and used it for a while then one day I wanted to start wearing FF tried all kinds and modular just wasnt happening could not stand to be so closed in, got a good 3/4 vented with full visor I think it is great cant belive I didnt do this sooner and feel much safer. I will get a FF by end of summer and make myself get used to it seems like the older I get the more safety minded I become.

I want to add this I have been riding for over 35 years been in a couple wrecks laid it down few times and have the scars and road rash to remind me.Never have I thought about safety gear then in the winter got amored leather jacket,In the summer it was tank tops and fingerless gloves,Not anymore got armored perf. leather jacket, draggen kevlar pants and racing gloves with carbon fiber covered fingers and knuckels with metal studs in the palms ultra safe. I could be the poster boy for motorcycle safety

When you are young you think you are invincable and going to live forever at least I did. You kind of know in the back of your mind that you will kick down the road some time but it seems just too far away. Over the course of your life you lose some friends, parents and it hits you in the face with reality.

As you get older it becomes less important to prove things to others, you just want to take care of your family, which means taking care of your self too.

Tomorrow is promised to no one.

I am full face all the time if its hot out I throw the shield open and take a few bugs in the face but I care more about coming home to my daughter than how cool I look.

i am fairly new to riding so i have a ff (alabama state law requires a helment) but i did ride without a helment during thunder beach in p.c., FL and it was an amazing experience. i live in a fairly small town and plan to get and open faced helment for in-town riding, but will keep the ff for long hauls.
