Fox,

Turn counterclockwise. You may go back 3 days (or it will seem like it). It should catch. Otherwise have the dealer check it out. You should have a yellow "low fuel" indicator on your speedo. It will show up yellow, first when starting from a light, and later will just stay on. I am guessing this is a recent model. I have about 50 miles before I will run out of gas once the light stays on.

But I have to get on the freeway to do that. Nope, not yet.
Sounds like it will work out.
Thanks everyone.

Hey Foxtrot -- Welcome to a whole new world! The bike will open up a whole new social network. Find somebody else that rides and start riding with them. The forum here is a great source of info, but sometimes it helps to have somebody there to observe/coach/teach.

Where in MD are you?

LOL Reading this thread reminded me of the first vehicle I owned. It was '57 Chevy that I bought in 1975. The first time I put gas in it....I had to go to 3 different gas stations until someone knew where the gas cap was located.

For those who are like the 1st two gas station attendants, a '57 Chevy put the gas cap in the left fin behind the brake light. I had a '62 Ford that hid it behind a hinged license plate.

Back on thread, palm on the cap so your fingertips don't rub a halo into the paint on the tank. Turn counterclockwise (left) and just unscrew it all the way off. THat first little bit of rotation hasn't realy loosened it, it just takes up the slack in the ratchet mechanism that keeps you from overtightening the cap.

ahhh, I bet there is a way to get there and avoid the highways... it might take an hour longer (depending on how far) but, in my experince, I've enjoyed it due to the longer RIDE, I've found stuff in my own town that I didn't know about and, most importantly AVOID the highway!!!

Welcome to the community, keep it safe out there!
