Default Licks Solo Bag Attachment and Wear Marks

Got my Licks solo last week and put it on Friday night. I have it mounted just below the left side cover resting on the passenger peg. It is attached to the frame with the leather belt they provide in the middle with the velcro strap at the rear and a zip tie to the foot peg in the front. Its only touching the side cover a little at the rear,

After about a two hour ride on Saturday I noticed a wear mark forming on the lower rear portion of the side cover from the bag. Anyone else having this problem? The marks seemed to come out with some wax. To help eliminatre this in the future I pot some felt stick on furniture button slides on the bag and some black electrical tape on the side cover where it was rubbing.

Has anyone else delt with this another way. I have also seen some pictures where guys have attached the bag over the side cover but I think that would be way worse.

pretty sure I saw a post on here where felt was glued to the back side of the lick's bag to help cut down on the wear marks

I put some of the stick on felt pads on mine too. Been on far almost a year and works like a charm...

I just noticed the wear marks on my side cover as well when I was wiring in the air horn. It's because of the stiff Licks seam. I'll try some stick on female Velcro on the bag and look for some 3-M clear film to put on the side cover. I think there's a 3-M sponsor on here somewhere.

I'm looking for longer bolts and spacers for the passenger footrest so that can be used with the Licks bag.

This looks like the cheapest place and size to cut a protective patch for the side cover;

Thats looks liker a good idea. It seem similar to the ZAGG / Inviable shield stuff used for cell phones, GPS, touch screens. I've got a few extra sheets around for if/when the felt buttons and electric tape wear off.

I've had mine for over a year. It definitely leaves wear marks where it contacts the side cover. I've noticed road grime gets in there and takes the finish off.

Doesn't bother me - you can't see it unless you remove the bag.
