Hey guys, have rode a lot, but never had a mishap with a squirrel, I have hit a dog before and I laid my friends 250 Honda down because of it.
I have a Nightster, and would contact with a squirrel just smash it, or would it throw ya? I have tons of squirrels in my town and around, in fact my town has a white squirrel festival every year. damn squirrels...
Just looking for opinions, and techniques in case I happen to hit one.
rockport has a point!! brother-in-law and i riding side by side both hit a wild pig together and to this day, we do not know how we survived it. man we were all over the road and i wish i had an extra pair of shorts. strangest thing is it hit a whopper of a size dog poop in a residential curve and the front wheel went right out from under me. i was so ticked, i picked up the bike and did a wild take off only to spill the bike again due to the poop still attached to my tire. at least squirrel poop is smaller!!!
Middle Ga is the squirrel capital of the south. I have hit my fair share. Run over a variety of things over the years on two and four wheels. Here is a partial recap:
I am just north of ATL City in Marietta. Never seen some many squirrels in my life. Hit them all the time in my cars.
Your worst decision would be to try and avoid the furry one. He'll no doubt retreat into your path.
I go straight for them and goose the throttle. They usually take off.
Lots of squirrels in my neighborhood. I hit them quite often. Only problem is I usually end up with burnt squirrel guts on my pipes. Takes oven cleaner to get that chit off.
