This just started happening last week and I am looking for suggestions on where to start troubleshooting.
The bike is an '06 1200C. When I am taking off for work in the morning, I fire her up and let her warm while I am pulling on my gear with the enricher out - approximately 2 -3 minutes. When I take off, I take it easy and push the enricher in. She doesn't start backfiring until I start throttling up through the gears - sounds like a carb pop. Once she's good and warm, no more issues.
I changed out the plugs about a month ago and run Porker Switchblades with a full Stage 1 and Andrews 515 cams. I haven't pulled the new plugs yet but will be doing that today.
Any suggestions on what to look for in trying to diagnose this issue?
Sounds like you're leaving the choke out too long. You should only have it out long enough that she can stay running without it, 20-30 sec. If she starts to cut out after you push it in just give her 1/8 throttle to stay running for a few seconds, let her finish warming up at an idle.
