Choke Slides in by Itself

Choke Slides in by Itself
I have an 05 1200C........when I pull the choke all the way out, it starts to slide back in by itself about half way. Is there an adjustment for this? Thanks in advance for the advice. -Ed

Yes, there is an adjustment. However, I had the same problem on my 05 1200C and it was a damaged enricher cable. It most likely needs to be replaced. It is covered under warranty, but if it isn't then it's only like $14 in parts. There was probably a batch of bad cables.

I don't have that problem on my 05 1200 C but I have read in these forums that the nut behind the **** can be used to adjust the tension on the cable. I haven't had to try it myself but it might be worth turning a wrench to see if that works.

The nut that whaap mentıoned ıs the rıght one to tıghten the enrıcher, but be carefull not to overtıghten ıt , just what ıt needs to be workıng properly , as the nut ıs plastıc ıt can break ıf you turn ıt too much . ( Thats what happend to me )
I drıve my bıke everyday from home to work , thats why ı use the choke a lot .
I thınk even replacıng ıt wıll not be a defınıtıve solutıon , ı just cutted a peıce of rubber to put between , and when the bıke ıs hot ı just take ıt out and put ıt ın my pocket

Anyway ı ordered a new one , thınk ıts on ıts way .
Im pretty sure that ı wıll have to change ıt nearly every year
By the way does anybody know an aftermarket choke cable that wıll fıt the stock carb ?? maybe that wıll work better.

Go to the dealership to have your cables replaced. Your bike will run better; trust me. I had the same problem and it seems to be a bad batch of enricher cables. It would sometimes pull in by itself. Other times it would pop out slighly and I couldn't push it in. Eventually it got real bad and wouldn't pop back in all the way.

Yep dealer just confirmed this, needs a new cable. Glad I got this sorted out before the new pipes go on. Dont want them blue or orange!
