Default Choke Slides in by Itself

I have an 05 1200C........when I pull the choke all the way out, it starts to slide back in by itself about half way. Is there an adjustment for this? Thanks in advance for the advice. -Ed

Yes, there is an adjustment. However, I had the same problem on my 05 1200C and it was a damaged enricher cable. It most likely needs to be replaced. It is covered under warranty, but if it isn't then it's only like $14 in parts. There was probably a batch of bad cables.

I don't have that problem on my 05 1200 C but I have read in these forums that the nut behind the **** can be used to adjust the tension on the cable. I haven't had to try it myself but it might be worth turning a wrench to see if that works.

The nut that whaap mentÄąoned Äąs the rÄąght one to tÄąghten the enrÄącher, but be carefull not to overtÄąghten Äąt , just what Äąt needs to be workÄąng properly , as the nut Äąs plastÄąc Äąt can break Äąf you turn Äąt too much . ( Thats what happend to me )
I drÄąve my bÄąke everyday from home to work , thats why Äą use the choke a lot .
I thÄąnk even replacÄąng Äąt wÄąll not be a defÄąnÄątÄąve solutÄąon , Äą just cutted a peÄące of rubber to put between , and when the bÄąke Äąs hot Äą just take Äąt out and put Äąt Äąn my pocket .
Anyway Äą ordered a new one , thÄąnk Äąts on Äąts way .
Im pretty sure that Äą wÄąll have to change Äąt nearly every year
By the way does anybody know an aftermarket choke cable that wÄąll fÄąt the stock carb ?? maybe that wÄąll work better.

Go to the dealership to have your cables replaced. Your bike will run better; trust me. I had the same problem and it seems to be a bad batch of enricher cables. It would sometimes pull in by itself. Other times it would pop out slighly and I couldn't push it in. Eventually it got real bad and wouldn't pop back in all the way.
