Ok so I tried to search, but couldn't find this exact problem.
I am installing a new speedo w/integrated dummy lights. I have wired up all the lights (high-beams, oil, neutral and backlight) but for some reason I can't get the turn indicator to work properly. It will only "indicate" one way turns. I wired it up, and it would blink when I had the "right" on, but not the left. I figured I would try alternating the wires, and then the left but not the right would work. Whats the deal?!?!?!

No idea what year your bike is, but I found this on the product description:
39-0435, 39-0436, 39-
0550 Turn Signal Light,
Pre90 models tap into
orange wire exiting turn
signal flasher.
1991-up models signal
indicator light cannot be
used.
Never mind, I see you have an '86.

Reason: I'm a non reading dumbass. :)
Ya, sorry I guess I figured it was pretty much the same thing for differnt years. I mean it's fairly simple wireing. The old dummy light had 2 wires, the new has 2 wires. I figured 1 was + and one was -, but for some reason it doesn't seem to work that way.
