Boy did i get the long shaft, I got my sporty at dales hd in Ill, and boy did i over pay.
2006 xl883c Red new $10,000 I owe 7,000 today have 3,000 miles on it also up-graded it to 1200c can't even sell for what i owe on it that sucks.

$10K? For a new 883c? Is that the bike alone? Or did you get the extended warranty and service agreement? The 2009 883c is only 8,000 (granted not OTD). Yeah, they drop in price pretty good. Especially when bling and other non-tangible items are included. Any chance you can come up with a 1000 or two to get the principal down? I know it stings. I just ate a WHOLE CRAP LOAD MORE to move a boat. But being out from underneath it is worth a lot too.

Yes thats just the bike, I guess i will pay it off than try and sell for an upgrade

That's an easy question to answer....Back in '06 dealers weren't budging too much on price. MSRP was what you paid for most bikes. Maybe if you were lucky you could get $750 or $1000 off at for the leftover models at end of year. By the time you paid tax, tag, title and the other misc. fees, you'd easily be at $10k OTD.
