I have a question, I just converted my R.K. to Amsoil in all three holes, Now I want to do the same with my wifes sporty. I plan on running the mcv 20-50 in the engine, but what Amsoil product can I run in the trans.?? I ran the 75-90 in my R.K. but I know harley has there special SportTrans fluid for the sporties and not sure what Amsoil product I can run in it. Surely some of you are running amsoil. Thanks.
I requested synthetic at local HD dealer they put their own Syn3 in both engine and primary.
Dont' understand why they officially say use the special tranny fluid in primary, but then they use the same synthetic for both if you switch to synthetic. I mean, there's not that much difference between regular and synthetic. There must not be much difference between regular oil and their tranny fluid.
Thats HD its hard to understand why they do what they do. My son just switched his 05 1200C to the Amsoil MCV 20w50 in the tranny/primary. He was running Bel-Ray oil in the tranny/primary and it was better than HD oil. Said it shifts a little better and littler quiter with the Amsoil.
