The fuel pump light on my wife's 08 nightster stays on and the fuel pump doesn't seem to work. I have checked the fuse and it's good. The bike won't start. I will crank but not fire. Is it the fuel pump itself or another fuse or broke wire somewhere. Any help is appreciated
I would suggest calling the dealer if its under warranty before you do anything yourself.. but in the case that its not.. buy a book if you dont have one... and then you need to determine if its an issue with gas, air or spark...

Reason: TYPO
Well assuming that you have fuel in the tank, either the fuel pump is toast or the "System" relay has gone bad. I would suspect the relay, these are know to be problematic. There are two relays on the fuse block and they are identical. One is the "Starter" relay and the other is the "System" relay. You can swap them to see if your fuel pump comes back to life.
If you want to you can push start it from there if you need to get it going. When mine failed, I swapped the relays and the fuel pump came to life and the bad relay even worked a few times to engage the starter.
It could be corrosion in the fuse block also but you would probably have notice this when you were checking fuses.
Just some things to check, hope you get it going soon.
