I sprayed oven cleaner on mine and it only made it worse. I have yet to find anything to clean it (i think it's perminately stained) so I gave up. it adds character

Whatever is in oven cleaner removes paint, fingerprints, and fingernails, but not stains.

I second the Simple Green responses. I use it with a tooth brush/finger nail brush and it works wonders for me.

"If all else fails!", go to a local automotive paint supply store and purchase a wax and grease remover(pre-cleaning solvent) and a tooth brush. Spray, brush and blot to dry before it flashes on its own.

FYI, at my detail shop, hence the screen name. I'd use a cheaper brand like XL or Nason. If not, powder coat black is always cool.

No cleaning advice here. I tried for a few weeks and then decided to just ride and not worry about it. I feel the grey finish on the Nightster is meant to look gritty...so I just let it develop more attitude!
