Default T bar sizing

I want to change out my bars this off season. I'm doing the obligatory speedo relocation and I'd like to get about 1"-2" in additional height and pullback than I currently have on my '04 XLC with the stock setup.

Will the set below accomplish what I'm looking for? They are prewired 8" rise, 5 " pullback T-bars.

Opinions on the price? I was considering doing the wiring extension myself, I don't know if I want to mess too much with it now since I have a couple of remodeling projects coming up.

I think those bars might be a little bigger than you think. I have 6" T-bars on my sporty and they added 1-2" of height/pullback. I think they're in the perfect position; up and back a little, but still forward enough to allow you to lean into the wind on the highway a little. On the other hand my stock bars might be a little different, position-wise, because you have a Custom and I have an 04 1200R. Also, mine are the 1" thick model not the thicker one's like you linked, but they do have internal wiring. Mine are Khrome Werks brand and I think they are a really good value. The chrome is really nice and durable and they were only around $100 for the 6" height, 1" diameter, dimpled and drilled model.

What type of risers and bars did you start with on the R model? The Custom ('04 and later) have the curved riser which is about 6" tall if I measured correctly, it also has at least a couple inches of pullback.

I took a trip to a local stealer yesterday, primarily to ask the same question I asked here and was told either T bars with 7" or 8" risers and 5" of pullback would accomplish what I was looking for.

Just looking for some opinions before I buy.

Also, does anyone think I'll have to change the clutch or throttle cables with the change I'm contemplating? Thanks
