I got an 08 nightster, lookin to move the speedometer. Do I need to get a different speedo or is there a kit that I can get that will enable me to use the stock one?
I dont know about a kit but several of the guys on the Sportster forum have done the speedo relocation. I hate to throw the "Did you do a search" question at you but I know there were some posts on here about it. Try looking up mreed he did one.
Joker Machine makes the absolute best solution. It's a true work of art plus is designed to use your old speedo, backing plate and wiring harness. It also contains all the idiot lights.
I just completed installing one on my Iron and I'm really impressed with it.
Yeah just buy the AutoMeter Clamp (Dont know Part# but search it and you'll find it)
It took me maybe 20 mintues or so and a little positioning and it was done. I think I spent maybe $20 or so in it. BUT I took my dummy lights off cause......I'm not a Dummy!
I thought about doing mine there but I'd have to actually move my head to see it & we all know how dangerous that is while doing 250mph! Ok...maybe not...but I don't like taking my eyes off of the road. I get the "swerves".
