Default is this compatiable?

i have a 1993 1200cc sportster. alot of my parts are tarnished, pitted, and ugly

i'm wondering if these sliders will fit onto my bike. or is it better to just buy new ones?

Stock parts off a 2006 XL 883 L. All in excellent condition.
1. Front wheel (19 x 2.15) & tire (100/90-19), 75% tread ($175); rear wheel (16 x 3.0) & tire (150/80-16) 95% tread ($275). Both have rotors attached. Buy set front & rear for $400.
2. Brake rotor (suitable for polishing or chroming) $35
3. Front fork sliders ($80)
4. Seat ($80)
5. Mid engine foot controls ($60)

To be honest we really need more info about the parts.. part numbers would be great if you can get them.. one thing I know for sure.. the seat looks like its off of a 04-09 and with that I would say no it will not work.. im not sure about anything else..

someone correct me if im wrong..

Seat won't fit and the mids won't fit , the sliders will, the front tire should as long as you get the right spacers, the rear wheel will only fit if you change the bearings to 3/4 and you still will need to check the spacers and the 150 tire won't fit either unless you switch to a pair of offset chain sprockets on the rear.

i'm pretty much looking at only the sliders. is it worth $80 for these? or am i better in the long run getting newer ones or ones made for my bike. or maybe even refinishing mine?

Like i mentioned my bike is just not taken care of and tarnishing.

Does the 06 have 3/4" axles? If not the sliders won't work without a new axle & wheel bearings for your stock wheel...

Just buff/polish your old stuff. You'd be surprised at how good they come out.

agreed with hogrider there. you can sand aluminum with fine sandpaper and work your way to 1500 grit. Then some jewlers rouge (or mothers polish) to polish it up and they will shine like chrome.

$80 is about 4 times what they are worth, if you are going to go to the trouble to change them, why not just have your old ones polished, if you've never done it, it pays to have a proffesional with proper equipment do it or they will just look like crap.
