Default will this tire fit ?

Can I mount an me880 size, 150/80-16 71H on my 07 road king rear wheel ?

I need to buy a rear wheel in 2 weeks, in the meantime I have a good Metzler rear tire I want to use if I can.
my local Indy says he normally won't do that but for 35$ he would swap it for me.
the tire I have is mounted on a rim, so he would have to pull the wheel from my old rim and the I would remove my existing wheel and bring it in and he will swap the rubber for me.

I figured its worth $35 to be able to ride right now until i can buy a new tire.

Any info would be great, thanks.

Yes it should fit, but the stock tyres for your bike are 76/77 and that one is a 71, so I reckon that sounds too light, unless you only ride solo. I went to that size to get a higher load rating, not lower! Does Metzeler do a higher load rating?

I took the wheel to my local indy today.
the tire is brand new, maybe 500 miles at best on it, i forgot it was that new.
he said it will be fine, it looks great considering how bald my tire is now with kevlar showing.
He's gonna change it Monday morning, I'm gonna have him take my wheel off rather than do it myself for the 75$ since I don't have to buy a tire now its worth it to me to have just do it.

IMHO I'd check and see if the tire is made in Germany or Brazil. If Brazilian made, I'd do alittle research. There are guys here that swear by 880's and guys like me that could have been killed riding on one. Just saying.

I had this wheel and tire on a bike for a month and it was great, 2 up or solo, as I said I put maybe 500 miles on the tire, during that time it grabbed very well and I had no issues with it, I dented the rim, so when I replaced the rim I bought one with a me880 already on it so I just ran that tire, I ran that one bald and got 7000 miles out of it, I rode every bit of it and loved it.
the one I have hear is the same just newer.

I will look and see where it was made, I'm pretty sure it was Germany though if memory serves.

I know a lot of guys who swear by then, I'm not a fanboy, I'll run different tires, if I were to buy a new one I was going to go with some Michelin's I heard give crazy miles, or I would go with the same tires I have now, the harley dunlops I think, lol hmm I forget. Their marked Harley DAV.. either Firestone or dunlop. I think.

anyway I just happened to have this nearly new tire and I know it performed well especially in twisties when I last rode it so I got lucky and saved 100$ at a time when I really need. Tire and don't have the extra cash.
