Today I finally tackled a job I wanted to do ever since I first got the bike but was too lazy to do. It kept getting pushed back because I wanted to make bigger mods. It's been raining here in S. Cali for a week straight and I don't have too much to do on my bike so I decided to knock this out.
I put the bike on the lift and removed the rear fender so I can move the the tail light forward/remove the long *** tail light arms, hack saw the thing that once held the rear reflectors, and get rid of the stock license plate holder. As you can see in the pics, I had to temporarily use para-cord to secure the license plate and the plate light. It'll do until I get a proper plate bracket from
Pangea Speed. When I get the bracket I probably won't use the plate light. Nothing major, but it bugged me from day one and I wanted to make the bike look skinnier and cleaner. Here's the final product.
Here's one more pic with the plate and plate light installed (more like tied). Now that I moved up the tail light I can chop the fender and swap out the monster stock seat for the Biltwell banana seat that's still in its production phase.

Reason: needed more information.
Bars are Keystone by Biltwell. Their HQ is right by my house so I stop by once in awhile to see what they have. I saw the bar and had to pick it up with their ignition cover/beer opener which i always use when working on the bike like today.

Yeah, Frisco's are damn nice. It was between Frisco & Keystone but I went with Keystone because you don't need longer cables to install it. All I had to do was unbolt the brake line from the frame and bend it a bit to make it longer and bolt it back on the frame. I like them both equally.
Looks sweet. Cleaned up real well with the plastic gone. Are you gonna do anything about the indent in the strut cover where your signals used to be?
I was doing a similar job on the rear end today too (fender chop), but unfortunately found out that it's impossible to remount the fender without a motorcycle jack .
