you could have a look at the inlet manifold rubbers could be pinched and sucking in air.

Seafoam might take awhile, first guess would be the idle circuit is gummed up. Second would be to check for intake leaks. Good luck.

Like said above, Seafoam will take a little time. Run a tank with it, then a tank without for about 3 tanks each, this should help clean out the carb. Ckeck the gaskets on the intake also. Could also just take a tweek of the low idle screw. You might want to get him a shop manual, worth it weight in gold.

i'd check to make sure the carb doesn't leak air somewhere, then check the untake...if it's still doing it then i'd pull off the points cover and see if the cam sensor is melted a little

it may also be a misfire from being slightly lean. Partially cloged slo jet or one that is just too small. Have had alot of success with changing from stock 42 to a 45

mine was doing the same thing, but I had a bad intake seal. My bike would back fire through the intake, sometimes so bad it would choke it out.

thanks guys the boy came in yesterday and told me that the school's head dog said he couldnt ride his m/c anymore on school ground because he is in the 9th grade. what crock of chit he has tags, a dl, insurace, AND A SCHOOL PARKING PERMIT which was given to him by the Principal himself in aug 09 and has been riding everyday! checked the so called
"school rule book" which states he has met all requirements They just change it yesterday!

sorry for the rant by the way, the boy said the bike is running much better now like something "opened up" thanks for the help

So the school changed the rules and said specifically no more motorcycles allowed? On what grounds did they change the rules? Did somebody ride a motorcycle through the hallways?
