I painted my nightster engine black, I took off the air cleaner, heat sheilds for the pipes, and that little 5 icon.
after putting EVERY thing back, I have two screws left. now my engine has white smoke coming from it when it gets heated up. I think its the paint "bakeing" on I'm not sure though, the fact that I have two screws left over freaks me out. I connot for the life of me find where they go.
they were in my air filter pile so, I guessed they went on the air filter, but no, I took everything off again and looked. EVERY nut and screw was where it should be. I have the stage one air kit. any thoughs on this would be great. Thanks
the front part of the V of the engine. Not sure what it's called. let me go turn it on and check it out again. it is the paint they put on the iron 883 so it should be ok. it's still wet, though. think that would have anything with it?
The paint shouldn't smoke, but that doesn't mean anything. My concerns would be fuel or electrical. What does the smoke smell like? That could tell a lot.
If you're like me, those two screws are for the bottom of your garage door light. The one your wife told you to fix. You took the light apart, and then started to work on your sportster. I have house parts from the 1990's that took a back seat to my sportster and wound up in my air filter pile.
