Default is this kit good? 1200conversion on ebay.

I am planning on doing the conversion in the next few months. I saw this kit on ebay here
Does it look like a decent kit? And also to get the most power out of it, i think i will do the buell heads also. Now can i use the stock carb? or should i get an aftermarket one? Anything im missing? I just want to get it all planned out and do it right. Also my main concern is how will reliability be? I dont want to make it to much of a hot rod that i will always be working on it. I want to be able to go out everymorning and drive it to work with no problems. Sorry for the dumb questions, but i just want to hear what you guys think. thanks

Maybe I missed it, but I would want to know who made the cylinders. If I were to do it agian, I would've gotten the NRHS 1250 kit.

I dunno, maybe I'm just picky, but he is having a hell of a time spelling. . . "cylinders". . . . Things like that always makes me nervous.

I'm gonna say no. Mainly because you can get all the same stuff for the same price retail, with James metal gaskets, and he's not tellin much about the gaskets or cylinders. Also, I don't know about Buell heads, but Wiseco reverse domes are meant for stock 883 heads to maintain the 9.5-1 comp ratio. Maybe Buell heads have the same chamber capacity? Don.t know. I ran my stock heads with my wiseco kit and am happy with it. I know there are many who want every bit of hp and torque availiable, but when I twist the wick, I better be hanging on tight!

I got basically the same kit, same price, from another dealer. It's probably from "V-Twin Manufacturing" and the cylinders have no markings, but the wrist pins were in plastic that had "TIAWAN" marked on them. Mine came with "Wisco" pistons (no markings) and "Wisco" rings, in Wisco packages. Also came with a Harley Davidson gasket set, sealed in a genuine (?) Harley box. The piston fit in my kit, was rather loose, and although I think it runs good, I have had overheating problems. I did install an oil cooler, but it still goes a bit over 250, if I hold a 75-80 crusing speed. I plan on getting a leak down gauge set-up, and see if anything's a-miss. If I had it to do again, and I might, I'd get a set of "Wisco" pistons and rings, maybe .010 oversize (reverse domed, as I'm using my 883 heads), and a set of genuine Harley 1200 cylinders, and have my local machine shop, hone the cylinders to fit the pistons. As an interesting tid-bit, my local machine shop, and it is an excellent one, doesn't like boring 883 cylinders out to 1200. He uses torque plates, and all that, but he said after doing a bunch of em, that they are just too flimsy, and usually distort after removing the torque plates. He recommends using stock 1200 cylinders. I know there is no difference that I know of, in the liner thickness, but like I said, this guy is GOOD, and has a very good reputation with the high end performance people.

I just installed the 1250 kit from NRHS,very good service. These folks stand behind it and you have some one to call if you have trouble.
I tried saving $ on a highflow petcock from ebay, well I got what I paid for it was like they sent a real one to china and said make me 10 million of these.Very poor imatation of a good one.Reason I bring that up I sure would not want my moter to get those kind of parts,do it right the first time.
