I literally bought it yesterday from an authorized dealer. They had it safety'd and plated.
Pulled her off the lot just fine, had 11 miles at that point. Rode it for about 3 hours yesterday...put about two miles on it this morning. Pulled it in and it sounded perfect.
Went to start it about an hour ago, and it just clicks (fast clicking). All the cables look good as far as I can see. Won't turn over or anything (it tried to once or twice).
I'd call the shop but they're closed. I'm calling tomorrow regardless, because this shouldn't be happening.
Grabbed a battery tender and hooked it up. Charged for 16-17 hours, then the light turned off on the tender, so I assumed it was good to go. Tried to start it and it turned over, but wouldn't start. Did that a few times, but now it just clicks again.
Hooked it up to my buddies bike and tried to get a jump, still nothing.
Check your connections. I still think it could be the battery. After charging one a while (17 hrs) they make seem charged breifly but really wont hold a charge and run down quickly again (turning over the motor some). If your connections are good, pull the battery out and take it to any parts dealer and have them do a load test on it or if you have a load tester then you can do one. If the parts place does it for you it should be a free service they offer and not cost you anything....except a new battery.

Remove the seat & check the voltage (DC) of the battery & when trying to start. I don't recall the minimum required. It is like a car under 10 volts & it won't likely start. Once started get the RPM over 3k & you can watch it charge. As mentioned by somebody else if you then shut down the battery will not likely have gotten charged. Idle will wear out the charge.
With 43 miles on an 09, it's been sitting way to long. Like everyone has said, it's the battery. Get the dealer to give you a new battery and put that one in.
