Winter Preperation
Windscreen
Saddlebags or Tour-Pak.
Sundowner seat, sissybar, and pad for the wife.
Looking through the harley site, these items are horrifically expensive! I'd like to get some input so I can make an educated buy.
I have no idea what windscreen size to get. I don't mind the wind, actually I enjoy it below 60mph. I'm looking for something that will break the wind infront of me for freeway driving. I've 25 miles to work and 95% freeway. I'm planning on taking the bike on some decent road trips next summer with my wife on the back. Money is a concern here; I dont want to go more than 250 and would prefer to keep it below 200 if I can.
Saddlebags or Tour-Pak? Tough one. I like the look of the bike without either on it, but I want to be able to take a small tool kit, rain gear, jacket, and a laptop (for work) on a regular basis. I used a backpack today and felt silly. Either way I doubt I'd be removing them once they're on, so I dont have to worry about detachable stuff, which means they'll be on all the time, so they gotsta look nice.
The tour-pak might be the way to go, since I want a sissybar for the little woman. Anyone know of a seat that will be comfortable for two on long runs, similar to the sundowner, but manufactured independantly? Sundowner seats are pricey, more so than I think they're worth. I just cant see how they need to charge so much for them.
Any thoughts, suggestions, or experiences would be nice.

as far as the saddle bags are concerned. I love my HD bags. They are very thick and durable. They hold a good amount of stuff, and they look great. They are very pricey though.
as far as the seats are concerned. I thought about going with the sundowner, for my wife, but I think it looks dumb on a sportster. I really haven't found a good looking & comfortable... & affordable 2up seats. Untill I do, she has learned to love the badlander.
I am 6' tall, and the windshield hits just below the horizon, which is annoying in itself, but to add to it, the way in which it has been molded, the top 3-4 inches are distorted... so you lose depth perception, and any good sense of what the road ahead is like. I can move it up or down an inch on the forks, which helps a bit, but not nearly enough. They only thing I like about it is that it is detachable, and I can install it or remove it in 30 seconds.
It does do a good job with wind and bugs though, so I put it on if I am hitting the interstate, or if it is going to rain.
