Just started redoing my new 48.
Put a Ralph Phillips Tattoo Spring seat on her, cut the struts off, cut the fender, have to get the rest going, this is going to be very fun!

the springs dont actually do much, its probably a liitte harder. but i couldnt say for sure. they put the seat on at the dealer before i bought it. I believe it runs around 500 for the seat and mounting kit

Default The "48"

I love my 48, it's a great little bike to rip around and gets alot of looks! If i wanted a bike with a bigger tank I would have but for around town it's sweet!

That thing looks sweet RyanVegas! I've been really debating which way to go with my 48's exhaust. It's nice to see something other than shortshots. How do they sound?

Thanks. They sound great!!! They have sound clips on the Samson site but most ever thing sounds better in person.

Default Spring Seat - Ride Quality

Nice pix of the seat actually installed. Looks better than I thought it would.

My question has to do with comfort compared to the stock seat. In particular, when I hit large potholes, the factory shocks/seat seem to bottom out. It delivers a significant body blow. At times I think all my teeth must have shattered.

How much travel does the spring allow? My thought is that the spring would give me an inch or two of additional travel before bottoming out. Is this a valid assumption? Does it tame the big potholes (at least to a degree)?

Thanks in advance

Mike
