I could see how it looks better, but I mean a 2.1 gallon tank on a 1200 doesn't make that much sense.

What does a FI 1200 average for mileage?

My carbureted 883 gets 60+. I do around 100 before needing to look for a gas station on my 2.25 gal tank, which is essentially that size. Does the FI 1200 get THAT bad of gas mileage to really warrant all the naysaying? Hell, at 100 miles I'm ready to stretch my legs any way.....

Well if you use the bike to commute everywhere, the miles will add up and you'll be making a lot of stops, like I do. I only get about ~45 with my 883, I don't know how you get 60+

With that little tank, sure hope your riding buddies don't mind all the stops. If your just riding in town not bad, but nothing of any distance.
