Ok guys I know I'm from the dark side but I thought I would share a few pics of a bobber project I did for a buddy this winter on his 89 Sporty. His dad gave him the bike and he only has about $1K into it including new tires and brakes last year. I think it turned out very good for the first total project we did. We fixed a couple oil leaks with new gaskets, new apes, new paint, new turn signals and brake light, forwards and the ugly *** red jelly grips and pegs he loves, then bobbed the fenders and lowered the rear 3". All in all it looks good, rides good and for the price you cannot go wrong. He is gonna have some old school pin striping done and a new seat shortly when his boss (wifey) allows it. Honest opinions are always welcome. The owner goes by firemedic24 on xlforums if you want to see a few more pics. Bryan
We were gonna powder coat the wheels red but my dad's buddy sold his shop that had the powder coater we were gonna use. Being a budget build he couldn't afford to pay to have them done. Maybe next winter. Bryan
I like every thing on it but the rear fender. I think it would look better if the tail was more round to match the front fender and tank. Just my .02c. Sweet lookin' scoot overall.

It's plenty round to match the diameter of the wheel... do you mean more slammed to sit with a lower clearance over the rear wheel?

I was a bit confused with that comment to. It is the stock fender cut off just aft the pillion seat bolt so his wife can still ride with from time to time. We slammed it 3" but he is still looking at different shock options to lower it some more. Bryan
I think you did an awesome job! Just round off the rear fender like SauerKraut suggested and it looks like the rear rim is black so maybe paint the front to match it.
That seat looks like the Hugger seat my friend had on his 1990. Nice work, bike looks good. A slight radius on the back fender would blend front and rear looks.
