I have an 07 sportster 1200 custom with a short or loose connection somewhere powering the fuel pump(efi). While sitting on the bike i reach under the tank and figit around and it will turn on so im trying to find a short. I removed the seat and played with the ecm but the connection is here and there just in time for the season damnit! Is this a common problem, what am i missing? At worst would anybody have a wiring diagram to see what wires are powering the fuel pump, start to end, so i can start checking resistance? Please help, im itching to get out!!
Thanks a lot
-Dave
Considering all the information you've provided I'd say something is wrong.
Generic advice: Check all connectors, make sure they are not corroded. Check if wires are actually connected to the connectors, loose wires are not that unusual.

07 Sportys are known for having corrosion problems in the fuse block that cause a number of different weird symptoms. Remove all fuses, clean the fuse block contacts and fuse contacts, then coat with dielectric grease and reinstall.
On my '06 I had an intermittent open ground under the tank, on the main harness there is 3 grounds going into one splice and going to case ground, only one of these 3 was intermittent. I assume the '07 harness will be similar, but same as you I could reach under the rear of the tank and pull and push on the harness and my problem would come and go.
2 dealers and 30 days in the shop, they couldn't fix it I finally took a day off work and fixed it!
