This the same mistake people have been making since they introduced that junk 20 years ago. It was suppose to help retain the exhaust heat in the pipe so under hood temps would go down and the theory also said the keeping the heat in the pipe would speed up the exhaust and improve performance.
What happened in real life is the exact opposite, what it really does is creates a super hot air layer around the pipe which actually sucks the heat out of the pipe, this causes the entire area around the pipe to run hotter and slows down the exhaust in the pipe which robs the engine of HP and it does destroy the pipe by overheating it everytime the engine is used.
This stuff is a really bad idea and the reason it's been used on custom bikes so much in the resent past is to cover up a lot of scabby weld jobs.

ROFL
I'm sorry but this is causing me to laugh!
A "hot layer ... which ... sucks the heat out."
You're kidding right?
Please explain to the thermodynamic engineers how this is possible.

jeans catching on fire.......eh, i'm sure you've dealt with worse where you're at. please come home safe dude and thanks for making the sacrifice so i can live in freedom. do yourself a favor though and put those heat shields back on bro! did you ever think of maybe wrapping over the heat shields, seen a couple people do that and it doesn't look half bad i mean if you must have that look.
