I'm thinking about purchasing the V&H competition series 2 into 1. I love the look of the pipe but I am curious how my leg will feel being next to a pipe with no heat sheilds.
Will there be much of a differance between a pipe that has a heat sheild vs one that dosnt?
The main difference is the mess it makes of your rain pants, boots and anything else that comes into contact with it.....the difference in heat aoutput is huge, like the difference between a hot frying pan and a cup of coffee.
I have Bassani Pro Streets on my SB, and have no heat shields. They get f*cking hot. I have burned a hole through a pair of Draggin' Jeans. Not very nice, at all! Very uncomfortable in the summer.
only had a problem with ,y winter snowboard pants I ride with burning on a spot of the pipe. it was plastic fabric liner though. so what ever exhaust it touched it would have burned. So there is tar resedue left on the pipe.
I will be wrapping the exhaust over that section anyways. never burned a boot or anything else. I also do not get inside of the leg heat like others say. It not uncomfortable at all.
Just buy the exhaust. you will not regret it. sounds great
