3.6 is correct if you change the filter also.I will assume you bought a new filter.I will also assume you mean 350 miles not 3500 for your first oil change. If this is your first oil may I suggest you go back and buy the filter wrench so you will be able to get the filter off.Mine was on so tight I could not remove it with a regular filter wrench. It's only $13 or $16 I forget to be honest with you.I used syn 3 in both the engine and primary.

I don't know about the newer bikes, but mine only takes 1 quart in the primary. Maybe he made a mistake and one of those primary quarts should have been for the motor???

My 2005 1200C takes exactly 1 quart of fluid in the primary/tranny, and 3 quarts of fluid in the enigne (with filter change)..

3.6 quarts in the engine (with filter change) will overfill it's tank.

I like to run the "hot oil level" no higher than the halfway mark on the dipstick..

I would go the 3k route if I was you, actually I go a little sooner than that in the summer, but that's just me....(most automotive manufacturers say 5k also, but the service departments push the 3k thing)

The type of riding you do will affect how often you should change your oil. If you ride a lot "around town" or short trips that don't get the bike up to temperature, your oil will probably get contaminated more quickly and need changing more often. If most of your riding is highway, 3000 miles is fine. Keeping your bike well tuned also helps. If your running rich, fix it asap. Gasoline WILL contaminate your oil and it's a lousy lubricant!!

???? The primary and trans are the same oil reservoir on your bike.
