Default What do you think?

I'm looking to buy this 2005 Sportster. I like the look alot. What should I check out before I purchase?
Is that seat stock? How does it feel after 2 hours?
The pipes are after market, too loud?
How is the suspension? I don't want to feel every manhole cover.
It's got carbs vs injection. Is that a real issue?

Ect. Etc.

Thanks

Looks like Vance & Hines straight shot pipes, they are nice.

That is a stock seat, and after 2 hours you will feel like you have been sitting on the narrow side of a 2 x 4. Stock seats suck.

Carb is easier, and cheaper, to adjust than Fuel Injection.

SportyPig,
What kind of seat do you have?
The dealer says a "Sundower" is nice?

Pipes look like slip ons. Seat is stock. How many miles ? What price is the dealer looking for as a 2005 will be 6 years old in a matter of months. Used market is full of garage queens looking for homes in a crappy economy, just saying.....WVleo

I dunno, the price doesn't seem all that bad for a dealer. It's got saddle bags, tinted windshield and custom exhaust. Kind of up to you at this point. I assume you have been looking around and therefore have a pretty good idea what these are going for in your area. Just remember, it is a buyers market...big time.

Me, I would want the fuel injection.

Hi, I was going to say $5250 tops but thats Me, plus I don't like white and the exhaust are slip-ons. $7000 to a dealer would make Me walk. But thats Me, if it works for You get it. .......WVleo

Test the seat to make sure you are comfortable on them. Doesn't matter how great a bike runs or looks, if you are not comfortable on it, you won't ride it.

I think the price is a little high as well. I have a 2007 1200 with just over 4,000 miles. The HD speedometer/tach combo that was 499.00, Billet HD head light $399.00,stage 1 A/C with Screamin Eagle Pipes,Air Shocks, Mustang solo seat, the full Willie G Skull package on every part from grips, cover, mirrors, pegs, gas cap ect.. and a Cobra Fi2000 fuel processor,Kuryakyn Panacea taillight and signals, smoke front lenses . Bike is Vivid Black with silver stripes I was going to list for $7200.00 and all the parts listed are less than a year old. Just noticed in pic, I also have engine cylinder base cover and chrome spark plug covers, I have the high polished forwards with chrome brake rod, chrome rear foot peg kit, sure I am forgetting other parts as well.
