Default Mid vs Forward Controls

I thought I wanted forward controls on my Sporty; now not so sure. I put on the forward controls, but now I find myself wanting to put my feet in the mid location on occasion. I really wish I could have forward controls and mid pegs, but quess you can't do that. I actually thinking about putting the mid controls back on and adding highway pegs to the front. Anyone else ended up going through this and doing what I'm thinking about doing - switching back to mid controls and adding highway pegs.

Had mids on my Dyna and could not stand them. Too many years of football on my knees. Really didn't like the H-D forwards for Sportys. Ended up grabbing a set of +2's off Ebay. I know a bunch of people who run mids with highway pegs and they swear by it.

I have always preferred mids. Never took them off. I have a set of frame mtd. highway pegs that are fine w/me. Love the mids for hunkering down and hugging the tank on the twistys; also helps on those days when there are gale force winds.

Default mids

I ran ran mids because that's what i knew/had ridden. With drag bars you can kick back a leg on the passenger pag or both and be streamlined ,however on longer runs with my wife on the back i thought i'd give the forwards a try,Yep for the first couple of pullaways you look for the midpeg to shift but not for to long. Now its pretty comfortable handles well and i'll keep them on.yep! you catch more wind and it feels slightlly firmer on the seat.

I started with mids for 1000 miles. Then went with forwards, because everyone told me they were way better. Rode with them for 7000 miles, and just never felt right. Also the forwards put my legs in an awkward position that hurt my knees. So I switched back to the mids and ran highway pegs and it is perfect. I love the mids they put me in an almost perfect riding position.

I have the mids and adjustable highway supports and pegs on my Sporty. I like the set-up and the install was very easy.

Both my bikes have forwards and would not own a sporty or any HD with mids. Do what you want, but mids suck IMO.
