Default did i get ripped off

ok so i know most of you guys would probably not go to the stealership for work. Neither would i, if it were something on my jeep, because i know jeeps. I however do not know much about bikes yet.

So I am having to replace my clutch basket and my clutch assembly(frictions and plates). Also they are replacing the primary cover seal and new primary fluid. So how does 800$ sound for that. I looked at prices of parts and it looks about right and they are gonna charge for an hour and a half of work at about 62/hr.

I just wanted to see what the more knowledgeable folks here would think. Thanks in advance.

BTW 08' Nightster 1200 no big mods

That sounds about right. The time is exactly right, and the labor charge is reasonable (better than we find around here, actually). Parts might be a hair high, but not enough to quibble over.

It's not a hard job to do it yourself. Go through Jireh cycles and get the parts for cheaper than the dealer and no labor charges. It's not that bad, I've done like 10 clutch replacements.. Buy a manuel it's cheapter then the shop!!

Man both dealers here labor rates are at $100 an hour. Youre lucky!

Yeah that sounds like a decent price. Definitely a good hourly rate tho i think my local stealer is 85 but i never use them. 60 is about the rate of a independent shop.

Tuff enuff. Just remember that wrenching is wrenching. If you know Jeeps, then you can wrench on anything, just get the appropriate shop manual. Bikes are easier, IMHO, as everything is out in the open, and it's function is pretty obvious.

cool, do you happen to know the best place to buy the shop manual. I am sure i could google to find one, however if you guys know an online store that you get all your parts and accessories form, well then I would rather go there.
thanks
