I'm looking at what my option are as far as tires are concerned for a 2011 48.
Stock size is:
Front MT90B16 72H
Rear 150/80B16 71H
I can't figure out what the B is in the sizes, i figured out all the rest, just not the B
The choices in those exact sizes are not many, so I was wondering, what are the slightly different tire sizes I could go with that would not require any modification. FWIW I have a dakota digital speedo, so speedometer reading changes are not a problem.
For example, is there a Pirelli night dragon that would fit the 48?
the B means it is bias plyed instead on R, radial plyed, and yes the pirelli night dragons will indeed fit, if you're searching online most websites hace where you can search by size
and for not saying there arent many sizes out there for that size, I'd have to say you aren't looking very well because alil while back when I was looking for white walls I came across alot og tire choices for the sme size
my question was more about what kind of different tire can i get for my rim. the night dragon was an example because it's the only one I could think of, but I'm looking for more of an off roadish tire, like a dual sport, and every tire on the pirelli site, when i click on "fits my bike" they all said no except for one which i didn't like.
So did i google, no because I'm not looking for the stock tires, I'm trying to find out what other size tires i can put on my rims, and even on a forum I could express that properly, so how would i google that
well a start is knowing the rim diameter and the rim width, and then start googling from there, you already the the rim diameter 16 and I almost positive the 48 is a 3.5 in width, from there you can look up tires that fit those dimensions
a good tire that has a off roadish look is made by coker, but these are somewhat taller and I'm not quite sure if they will fit our 48's I remember readin somewheres they will have an issue in the front since they are a lil taller than stock wheels but they are badass lookin
You could use the Avon Road Safety 5.00 x 16 which has a chunky old school tread, it's technically a rear tire but it can be used on the front you just have to mount it the 'wrong' way round if that makes sense.
I saw those tires on the roughcrafts sporty...it's a company out of Taiwan, but the frontend was changes to have the same wheel in front and back, but that Coker (5.10 16") is the idea I'm going for, and that's why I was asking about what else would fit. I don't want to relocate the front fender, but would if I had to.
I'm gonna give the Coker a closer look though.
