Listen to what I reciprocated,
your problem is not fuel related.
The speedo cuts out with the mis,
a vacuum hose cannot cause this.
It's not the brake lines, sprockets or wuzzles,
It's not the who-tikers, shambuzers, or schnuzzles.
The problem is not the pushrods or the cam,
The problem's electrical, Sam I am.
Could be, bench testing it is the only to tell for sure. Any auto parts store can do this for you for free. Either way the battery should be under warranty, I would take it back.
If it was the fill and chargetype, typically those have a 30 to 90 day warranty.
Ok just got a 2000 883. I just coverted from sportbikes. My problem is riding around town it runs fine but when I get on the freeway the speedo quits working and it sputters until it kicks back in then when the speedo quits working it sputters. What do I do. Please help sorry if this is the wrong area this is my first post and I'm doing it from my phone. Hiding from my boss lol.
Didn't really feel like reading any of the other posts so if this has been mentioned my bad. I just came off a cbr 929 myself. What I did was just rip all that crap off. I mounted the dummy lights in the light visor. The bike looks alot cleaner without it. Of course I grew up on dirtbikes and I'm use to no speedo or tach. I usually can gauge my gas usage pretty close.
Edit: Oh yeah the first thing I did was chunk the battery and went and bought a new one. Also picked up a Batterminder plus to keep it plugged up to. Sounds like the battery or connections to it.
