Default Dyna to a 48

I don't know what it is but ever since they came out with the "48" I have had this urge to get one. Since I can't rationalize two bikes at this time, the Bob may need to go. Am I crazy? Tell me some good stuff about the 48 please. Tell me that I won't be disappointed.

I went from a bigger bike to my 48....I am in love with it and it has plenty of motor to get my 230 lb *** down the road. If you are lookin than you need to go see one and let it talk to you

Depends on the kind of riding you like to do.If you're a barhopper or weekend canyon carver the 48 will be fine.If you put in a bunch of superslab miles you'll probably miss your Dyna.I have a Dyna and a really light cafe'd out Suzuki 650. I love riding em both, the Suzi's for burnin up the back roads the dyna's for rollin up the highway.

Sounds like someone needs to work on their rationalization skills.

Never ridden anything but a Sporty and would actually love to ride something else to be able to compare but from I've heard and read seems like everyone has more fun riding a Sporty.

On the other hand, from everything I've heard and read, you'll probably need to be thick skinned so you don't go pouting back to mommy every time someone calls your 48 a girl's bike.

My 2 cents... If you are still making payments on the Dyna then wait till it's paid off. Then get the 48. Ya can't have too many bikes. I got my N by giving the Hugger to the OL. Now we each have our own bikes, I still ride the hugger once in a while despite the pink stickers she put on it.

Go test drive one and park it beside ur bike. Get off and get the big picture...or better yet see if one is available to rent...Before u pull the trigger

I've had the Nightster for 2 years and love the ride I can squeeze between trafic and still growl on the open road...but now i've realised having the best of of both.... sporty and A cruiser is the way to go.

I traded in my FXD to get a Nightster. Wish I'd waited until the 48 was available. That 48 is the coolest bike HD's made in ages, IMHO.

Do it, don't look back. The 1200 Sportsters are so much more fun to ride than the Big Twins that it isn't even funny. They are so much more nimble and "flickable" than the BT, they accelerate better, stop better, grin bigger. I just can't wipe the smile off my face when I ride - which may be a downside, as I'm starting to get wrinkles from it [ 8-) ]. The only things the BTs have over Sportsters are softer ride (although the Street Bob and FXD really don't even have that), and more passenger space. The Sportsters demand a more compact riding position. I prefer it, many do, but some wind up adding forward controls, apes, and/or "tallboy" seats. That's actually the best part about a Sportster: you can put a crap-ton of money into making it exactly what you want, and still have less invested than in a BT.

I went from a Heritage Softail to a 48 and it's the coolest bike Ive ever owned. If you're not getting the bike to make cross country runs I'd go for it.
