For running gas I get by with 93 octane just fine. With good solid numbers, upper 90's hp and lower 90's torque.
Once I started tuning my octane (mixing my own fuel) rating to my compression ratio is when my motor really came alive. When I want to play I run about a 100+ octane. For a 11.1 like yours, 104+ is recommended.

I gain about 10hp /10ftlbs on the top with alcohol. The motor runs a lot cooler too.

PS: Cams with out head work is a waste...........

Yeah that sounds like a daily rider there.

I run 93 octane on the street for a few hundred miles a week. With no issues at all. Seven of us are going to Utah in August, 3800 miles round trip. I've road it to my parents in Upstate NY around 1800 miles round trip. The wife and I ride to charleston once a year and that 450 miles round trip.
By myself I get 17 to 32mpg, with the wife on I get about 48mpg.

Sometimes I'll run mixed gas on the street when I have some left over from the track.

I never run alcohol on the street. That setup is WOT only.

Your speedometer is a mechanical that runs of the front tire. His is electronic that runs of the speed sensor.
I figured that might be the case.

Course if they have to be 883 EFI heads it would be good that I could get all the parts and have them done and then proceed to modify when I am ready for the bike to be down a week.(now is good, but yet...no) Now would be good, but I got a home project to finish first.

Where in Z heck could you find a pair of 883 EFI heads, and why wouldnt 1200 efi heads work just as well? I want to know......!
Porters like to use 883 heads because they have smaller ports and smaller combustion chambers, so they can remove material from where they want for best flow/power. Combustion chambers can be adjusted for correct compression ect......
