I would go with NRHS instead. Better quality, service, and performance.

For those years, I'd go with Buell parts if you can get them. If not, then S&S or Zippers, both have been around for a long time.

Thanks guys. I won the bid ($450) for the conversion kit but didn't meet the reserve. I think I'm gonna go the NHRS route.
Cheers Edster

+1 for NRHS, you wont be disappointed.

BTW, I may have some domed 10.5:1cr CP pistons for NRHS 1250 jugs. They have about 3000 miles on them. I have to switch to flat tops because Im changing heads to the 04 XL style that have a bathtub chamber. Let me know if you are interested. Im about 3 weeks away from removing them.

When I was doing research on upgrading my 06 SB from 88 to 95 inch I ran across a 96 Inch Rev Tech Kit. When I asked about the Rev Tech Kit on another forum I was advised more than a few times to avoid them.

My 98 883/1200 was converted using Buell, SE and Thunderstorm parts back before the Kits were available.

There are also a few reputable machine shops offering cylinder kits with pistons

Yup, there are several ways to do it. In most cases you get what you pay for. You can def do it with buell parts, even take of sporty parts. Heck, you can almost find a good used engine to strip parts from for similar cost of a high quality kit.

Its really convenient though for the garage builder to use a reputable kit, especially with good customer support. You get this for sure with NRHS.

Things like boring with torque plates, high quality pistons-rings-and gaskets, matching pistons to heads, squish clearance...yadda yadda, are very beneficial when going with a good quality kit.

Pinwall cycles on ebay often have good take off parts if you wanna go that route. Just plan ahead and make sure its all compatable.

Hey Gibbs what do you want for the pistons? If I did purchase them from you could I bore my stock jugs to fit the NHRS pistons? Cheers Edster

You can only bore your stock juggs to 1210? or 1215?

His pistons are for 1250 juggs which you'll have to purchase.
