Default HELP! 6.5" Pullback Risers

Ordered the Drag Specialties Black 6.5" pullbacks and they came in yesterday. Been trying to install them today and am having some issues and before I f#ck something up I decided to take a break and try to get some info.

For those that have installed 10" Z bars, Apes, Friscos, etc I've read over and over that you didn't need to get wiring extensions. Are you lifting the tank and finding some wiring slack under there because just on the stock risers for the Iron all my wiring is tight as a whale's ***. I haven't lifted the tank yet but that's my next attempt to try and find the slack that I've read so often about.

I've also read where instead of buying a new brake line you simply bend the "L" shaped tubing and that gives you the length you need. I assume you're unbolting the tubing at the handlebars and from the clamp at the bottom of the triple trees. Once you bend it are you clamping it back down? I looked at it and from what I can see if I go this route the line will be left hanging free.

Sorry for all the questions but I've been wrestling with these stupid f#cking things for about an hour and a half now and at this point I just wanna throw the damn things into the woods.....

i put friscos on my 09 custom and didn't need wiring extensions. there was plenty of slack. The wires were long enough once removed from the stock bars. I didn't need to pull any slack wires from under the tank. if my memory is correct, the wiring harness where your hand controls connect is in the plastic cover to the left of the bike and connected to the frame slightly lower than the tank, though you need to remove or lift the tank to gain access. l If you're using a 6" pull back riser there probably isn't enough slack for that and 10" bars.

as for the brake line, just bend the L out of it. be careful not to break it. I left mine hanging, but eventually put on a new standard length one piece brake line because it looked better. Once agin, with a 6" riser you may not have enough length in the brake line, or the throttle/idle or clutch, for that matter.

So lifted the tank and looked at the wiring and the harness underneath. Doesn't appear to be any usable slack whatsoever so looks like I'm going to be extending the wiring.
Throttle, clutch and brake fit (once I bent the L shape out of the brake line).
To be honest the whole reason I went with 6.5" pullback risers is I didn't think it'd be this big of an issue to install them. If I'd have known I'd have to extend my wiring I would've just gone ahead and got the 14" Burly Apes and wiring extension kit I was looking at...Guess this is what I guess for being cheap and trying to save a few bucks.

BTW, fkaluddite, I don't have 10" bars just the stock ones. The reason I brought up the 10" bars is I've read multiple threads of guy's installing them without having to extend any wiring, following that train of thought, if they installed 10" bars then I figured 6.5" risers wouldn't be any issue at all...
