New bars: Electrical Issue
The issue is that there isnt any whirl sound from the fuel pump when i turn the bike to run. all the lights turn on and there is a little movement in the speedo. the key and oil light come on also and the key eventually goes out (im assuming that the oil light would go out if i could start it?). I did siphon the tank and removed it in the process of doing the bars. Its also near empty but wasnt sure if that would stop the pump from priming.
I really dont want to rip back into my wire harness if im not even sure if its caused by my extensions.
If so then check the battery. If all that checks out then it's gonna be more fun.
(And and just to let you know I drained my tank bone dry last time I had it off and filled it back up with no problem priming the pump)
When you worked on all your wiring, you disconnected the battery correct ?
Someone else will have to tell you how to test a bad fuel pump, I've never done that.
I know you are too smart for these items, but sometimes it helps just to check all the little things first before you go any further.
Make sure the fuel line disconnect is securely remounted back into position.
Make sure the on/off switch (on the bars) is on.
Oh and one time right after doing some mods on mine, the FOB battery went dead.
I have a friend that is pretty good at this stuff, and he always says to check you DTC codes in the beginning, after the obvious is done.
Maybe someone will jump in here soon with some good things to check.
