'07 1200C need some advice

Default '07 1200C need some advice

Went to start up the wifes Sporty to move it out of the way. Turned key on, hit the run switch and fuel pump did it's thing and then I hit the start button and instantly lost all power. No lights, no nothing. Did I blow a fuse, if so which one? Thanks guys

Yep. Dead battery. The 07 & newer Sportsters have a constant power draw. I have to put my 08 on trickle charge a day before I get it out the first time each year.

What you are explaining isn't uncommon.

Yep, note Battery Tender Plus cord. That little red light on the speedo flashes 24&7.

another vote for the tender... if my bike is in the garage, its hooked up (and it is often my daily driver)! i like the tenders so much that i have 3 running most of the time (2 bikes and one cage).

Not to get off topic, but isn't there a tender available that will charge several off of the same unit?

Default Check the battery connections

Before you replace the battery "Check the connection". I have had the exact same thing happen twice, now I carry a small wire brush and the few sockets required in a zip lock bag on both my Sportsters (07 883L & 08 1200C).

I haven't had the problem since mid 08 because I remove the battery, clean and reinstall it when I change the oil.

3 or 4 station single tender,,,I think about 200 bucks tho

I'm a weekend rider,,,some weekends get by me,,,
My alarmed 2008 stay's on the Tender

Nice ta have a full battery all the time and better for the battery too.

Get a new Battery and a Tender.
Don't go buyin some expensive battery,, the HD AGM type
Is a goodun,,,plus It says Harley on the side XD

Shop around all you wan't, you may save 10 bucks,,
Or Just get-er-done and go ride.

+1 on the battery tender.....worth their weight in gold! Extend the life of your battery by three times.
