Clunk
Everyone in awhile I feel and here a big clunk on the motor somewhere? Also coming from neutral to first sometimes it grinds any suggestions also I did this before I did my primary oil today.

Is it when you shift? The "clunk" is a very common symptom of the shifter dog engaging and is perfectly normal on a Sportster. The grinding is most likely caused by not hitting the shifter peg hard/fast enough. If you don't bump it in to gear quickly enough, the teeth will grind on the gears and make a nasty noise.

The clunk is normally after a good ride coming out of first at a stop light. It's not the shift clunk. But it feels like something in the motor and thanks for the first gear shift sound info. That only happened going from neutral to first never while in motion.
