Default Most Afforadable Stage 1 combo?

I'm a new rider (1 year) and after having my sporty for a year, I'm ready to do a stage 1 upgrade. I need it to keep it cheap since I will be doing it for my bike and hers. We have '09 883c's. I don't want crap either, though. One combo I have come up with is SE a/c, cycle shack slip-ons, and the V&H fuelpac, all for around $500. Any other combos or advice? I could stretch the budget a little if the resulting performance is noteworthy. Thanks for any help.

The Xied or whatever their called instead of fuelpac will probably save you some money.

The least expensive that I've found is the SE A/C, Rush slip-ons, and Nightrider X14iEDs.

Cool

JayPmac,,

Real performance thats a Kick In the *** for an 883,,only one way to go
A 1200/1250 kit,,,Big Bucks,, 20-25 hp and up to 30 ftLbs of Torque

The full stage one will net you 4-7 hp and 5-6 ft Lbs of torque at best,,
Thats AT BEST!
You will feel It,,but a skilled rider who KNOWS the power band
on a stock 883 will still kick yer ***,,Unless you know how to ride
the bike for all It's worth.
On a budjet,,two bikes,,
Go for the sound first,
Rush slip ons,,,1.75"baffles,,a Little de-cell pop,,no harm done
and not gonna make ya too lean..
Save some more coin and add the X14ieD's,,,

Do Intake last,,,

I got my Big sucker for $100 from eastern performance. Why the hell is everyone obsessed with that overrated screaming eagle air cleaner? If you want affordable stay away from it. My Big Sucker A/C, Fuel Pak, and Straightshot slip ons cost me $450 total. Can very easy to find a fuel pak used off someones scoot they have sold or are selling.....or just go a cheaper route than the programmer. Scour the internet dealers and save $

and yes I realize some may like the look of the S/E AC but the op was asking for affordability not cosmetic based

I have to agree and say I dont prefer the looks or price of the SE intake. I think the do it yourself intake can be done for 50 or so and looks way better

People are "obsessed" with the SE A/C because it breathes better than anything else at that price point. Homemade and other cheap A/Cs aren't generally correctly engineered, and will not improve performance in all respects like the SE unit will. Also, unlike many other "Stage 1" A/Cs, the SE retains a reasonable degree of water tightness so you can ride in the rain without ruining the element.
