I'd PROUDLY ride a Sportster if I weren't 6'3" tall...I like 'em but as it is I had to put a set of 3" forwards on my Standard just to get some x-tra leg room. I guess people think they're chick bikes because there smaller in overall size and CC's than the "big twins"...WRONG!
A softail is only 4 inches longer then a sportster. I think the sportsters look smaller because they are not as wide. The gas tank on a softrail is much wider.
If I wanted the Biggest, Plushiest, Largest cu in bike I'd have a Honda Gold Wing. Sorry but I'll just, suffer with my Little Harley, Thank you
The old timers rave about their ol 74's. Now I know why. (1200C)
I never owned a suit my whole life up until a couple years ago when me and my wife went on our first cruise and I bought one. I haven't wore it but 1 other time since though. Yep I'm a badass like that.
I don't think I'm either but it sure is funny to see people's faces when they start in with the "girls bike" or "not a real harley" and I tell them I only bought it because it fits me, gets great mileage and I can work on it.
Not one other HD rider has yet to say anything negative about my bike, only pogues who don't own one for whatever reason.
The only sport bike I've been on that fits me is a Buell XB12Sg. Apparently all Jap sport bikes are for taller riders than me.
I've owned BOTH types......Sportster is a lotta fun. Call me a "girl" and I'll hit you with my purse!!
