I've been looking around at all the different aftermarket seats available and I would like to hear some recommendations from you folks that have replaced your stock seat.
I have an '08 1200L and that stock seat and my butt just ain't getting along.
Are you looking for comfort or a sleeker, more sporty looking scoot? Are you considering leather, or are you looking for a vinyl, more economical option? Long or short rides?
Personally, any seat I ride wears my a$$ out after 50-100 miles, so I went for a sleek LePera Bare Bones solo with a leather seating surface. Breathable so my a$$ won't be so sweaty at the end of a ride here in FL, yet gives me a sporty sleek look. If you are on longer rides alot you may want a thicker more padded seat, but don't fall for the "Biker Gel" options out there. Too expensive for the minimal (if any) benifit you get. For normal rides, Biker Gel, or gel option in general will be harder and less forgiving. Gel may be a good option for several rides of 100's of miles in a row.
My two cents. I've had good luck with LePera and Mustang. Corbin seems way to overpriced and I really don't like their designs. Danny Gray looks nice if there's one of theirs that floats your boat, but I've never owned one.
I just got a little thingy called a pro-pad. Its a gel filled pad that comes in three sizes. I have the medium one on the sporty ,, just lay it on the seat and sit on it! Does not move! I can adjust it at stops and is way better than just stock seat
