That's crazy! The engine guard was already on my XL50 when I bought it so I have never tried to take the engine mount bolts out. I was thinknig about takeing off the XL50 and installing it on the 1200 C, but now I my just leave it.

That's because you're a woman, next time have your husband call. Stealers will try to pull that chit all the time with ladies.

WOW, for real. It was a woman that I was talking to too. Hubby is picking up some tools from my brother today --- hopefully we can do it ourselves. I spent over $1,000 that day at the stupid stealership and they can't even take the bolts out for me. NOT impressed.

Good luck with installing your engine guard! I am about to install mine soon and was wondering what tools I need to do the job? I am still waiting on my guard to get here in the mail! Any help with tools is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Torx 45 socket for the top bolts and Torx 27 screwdriver for the horn. Couldn't make the top bolts budge even with with a long breaker bar and heat but a hammer smack and impact driver worked.
