Default PCV question

Since Dynojet does not produce a PCV for '08 1200s, I have been thinking about purchasing a "retrofit" PCV from FuelMoto and ridding myself of the FuelPak decel pop blues. Anybody rigged one of these on their scoots?

Dynojet does not have maps available for this model and does not support any warranty; however, FuelMoto assures me that they have this system wired and do support a two-year waranty on the product.

Help ease my mind.

Hi garslayer,

I have the PCV on my 08 XLN and it has been working well for me the last couple years. I do get some popping on decel though so don't think it is all going away by jumping from the FuelPak. The map they give you may work just fine for you but then again it may not. I hear the best way to deal with the popping is to have it dyno tuned.

Good luck.

I've got one from Jamie retrofitted for my '08, and it has since been dyno'd by him as well, but even before that I never had any problems or decel popping.

I was going to get dyno tuned. I really want assurance that the retrofit PCV is going to perform as advertised.

How much better was the performance before dyno? Was it worth the bucks?

I went with the PCV on my 08 Sportster. Bought it from Fuel Moto.

Put out 72 HP with 72 Ft/Lbs of torque.

D&D Slip Ons, SE Stage 1 Air Cleaner, PCV from Fuel Moto

I got one from Fuelmoto for my 07 and it works great, 76 horsepower and 77 torque right out of the box.
The dyno sheet is in my photo gallery, I had it tested and the dyno dude said he could probably get me another 1-2 HP and smooth the air/fuel a bit but in his opinion unless I'm racing it he suggested leaving it alone.
Fuelmoto does seem to be very good at the initial setup if you are using common parts.
It was like night & day when I installed it, smoother, cleaner power and much better throttle response and cooler running (I did install the Hurricane flow at the same time so part of the improvement is down to that too).
I do get what I would call "crackle" on decel, I have heard other bikes that really pop and I don't like that but the crackle sounds kind of cool to me.
