i now ride 11 ultra limited....
but for city riding or short ride i need a smaller bike.....i already have honda CB1000R for city riding but feel really want hd for short ride....
i really like the 48 style....like the tank shape, like the big front tyre,...
i read that 48 is very uncomfortable...is it true ?
is that bad ?? how if i compare it with nighster....
i dun care about the 100-130 km reserve tank on 48 coz i will only ride for short ride....if i need long ride i will just stick with my limited....
any one have it please help me
thanks
Mid controls vs. forward controls makes a huge difference in comfort for me, then again I'm 6'1". I haven't ridden a nightster, but I have a 48 and I don't know what the big deal is with "comfort", though most of my toys have been set up for performance over comfort so maybe I'm just used to things being a little less "cushy". It is not a glide across the road feeling, but it's a cool little scooter and I wouldn't trade it for any other HD I've seen.

I am 185.4 cm, and I'm 41. I weigh 95.25 kg so I have the rear preload set to the 4th position (made for over 100kg) but it works well for handling. On very uneven roads here it can get a little choppy at speed, but to me it's no big deal. This is my toy though, not my only source of transportation. I will be upgrading the suspension over time along with several other items.
I'm 183cm (6'0") and ride a Nightster with stock mid-controls perfectly comfortably. Since you also ride crotch rockets, you may find the mid-controls more comfortable, since they allow you to get the weight off your coccyx, and allow you to rise up off the saddle if needed. However, I also have ridden the 48, and really regret letting my wife talk me into the Nightster. It is an excellent ride. The 48 ride is identical to the Nightster's, and they are acceptable for reasonable distances. They don't ride as well as your Ultra, but they don't ride as badly as a bicycle, either...
I am 36 and 5'10 and 200 pounds of ripped muscle (just kidding). I have a 48 and am comfortable but am going to put 12 inch apes on to be a little more upright (and for personal preference). Bumps and potholes are rough so I would avoid if possible. My only beef with the 48 is the small gas tank. Otherwise, I absolutely love it. I also would not own any other hd than the 48 or nightster but again, just personal preference.
