2004 Softail FXSTBI, 88ci, V&H ProPipe HS, SE Air intake, Andrews TW26 cams.
Got the Fuelpak LED for it last year (regretted it), with the idea of re-adjusting fuel because of the cams. Well, there were no such FP maps for this layout, after a couple of emails the tech sent me map FP-918. The bike started gobbling up lots of fuel, mileage under 30mpg. After some more emails with as accurate description of the issue, the tech changed several values asked my to try it. No real change in fuel mileage, although the bike woke up a fair bit. So, I took it to dyno shop, asked for specific fuel graphs at various throttle openings, rpms and loads, WITH THE FUELPAK REMOVED. My way of thinking, send the data to V&H, they'd zero in, rather than guess. The tech emailed me back with some further adjustments, objective is improvement in fuel mileage. As a sidenote, my 02 FLHT, carbureted, 95ci, V&H ProPipe HO, Mikuni 42mm, SE Ignition, SE Air intake, Andrews TW26 cams, mild head work (9.5:1 static compression), is getting a consistent 40+mpg.
Fuel mileage improved by 2mpg to 32 mpg, not impressed. While I'm educating myself on the next fuel management system, I decided to also find out as much info about these FuelPak cryptic mode sets. Thanks to this thread, I've put together what's been tried so far and further adjustments of my own, all changes highlited in RED. I've included 2 more maps, one for stock config FP-0030. the other Stage I FP-0032. There are still 13 modes that are "in the dark", so reading historically backwards, I'm trying out mode value adjustments in measured steps.
I have a theory. Stage I fuel feed without the 26s, can't be that far off with the 26s. They're a mild, torquey cam, and I know a lot of folks who are using them with a Stage I flash only, without any negative effects. I'm sure power would be improved, but the basics work. Now, the theory....if all associated FuelPak modes were at 0, would that not make the Fuelpak add nor subtract zero fuel from the Stage I fuel map, anotherwords be neutral...(I understand the perils of a lean EFI fed motor.)
If anyone has something to add, please chime in. I'll post updates on further adjustments and their behaviour on the Softail.

can you remove the above quoted post. (Although the thread is right, Deciphering the Fuel Pak, the model is wrong (Softail)...I think this post would be more at home under the Tuning section on this site. Thanks for all the info available from this thread.
I have an 08 dyna street bob, inside parts unknown seeing I bought it used I’m at least third owner. Have OG FP led model. I been wanting a full chart on what mode does what, problem I have is after a long pull at steady throttle, as in some miles full engine temp. It wants to die when I left off throttle clutch pulled, I put in some non sense info on VH site to get new calibration settings and bike went from night to day on power currently it’s running fat which I don’t mind still getting 45mpg running 70-90mpg at a cruise. Just the dying coming to a stop light is my only concern, because I love the obnoxious decel clapping lol
I searched several websites.... Finally I called V&H spoke with a very nice Tech (Will remain Unnamed) and he kindly provided me with this....
Happy Tuning!!
PS make adjustments at your own risk
If you DO NOT understand what something means or does DO NOT TOUCH IT!

Brilliant!
Finally, it all comes together. Without a dyno, making adjustment(s) while keeping track of fuel consumption and feeling out motor output has become a lot easier
With a dyno and a good operator, this is now a piece of cake.
Well done sir!
