82 degrees outside right now, and I just got back from a little ride.
This is the worst month for whitetail deer/vehicle accidents around here (average 2 each day in this County), but knock on wood, no problems today. We have a total population of 8,200 people in the County, and a much higher deer population. If you ride after sunset during the next couple of months all I can say is "Good Luck"..
Last week the temperature got down to 16 degrees, and now it's 82.
Went out to buy some glove liners and a face wrap (you hot weather guys don't know about those, do ya?), then got treated to a big ol' downpour. Yay! However, I did get to try out my HD raingear, and am pleased to report that they worked like a champ. [sm=coolness.gif]
That's what I like about Texas. We can ride around here all year long. Gotta love it! It's been the best days for riding lately - cool and breazy, in the 70's during the day, although lately it's been in the mid 80s. The wind was strong for a while, but that doesn't bother me.
I couldn't tell you what it's like in the early mornings bc I'm still in bed. I believe it has been in the 60's.
I was able to get several rides in during this warm spell in Kansas City. Took at night ride and it was near perfect...little traffic, no deer (or at least that we saw) and a cool sunset. I doubt if we'll have many more days like this...I plan to keep ridin' on those nice winter days.
